Pastor: Reverend Dana Mayfield

Dana Mayfield is a Precious Child of God - just like you. A graduate of Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary and a pastor in the Presbyterian Church, U.S.A. for over 15 years, she treasures the ability to spend time studying and discussing what others say and have said about God. She is delighted to be in west Texas, which is home, and loves sharing what she learns with others.

Dana is a recovering High School Mathematics teacher. When teaching, she employed the use of singing, skits, and a variety of activities to help her students learn the difficult material. She is not afraid to use some of these things in the pulpit.

Dana spends as much time as possible riding her bicycle, walking, practicing yoga, and meditation. She has completed a Century Bike Ride (100 miles) and a ride across Iowa. She enjoys God's creation of nature as often as her schedule allows. Interest in gardening keeps her busy year-round: planning, planting, nurturing, harvesting, and soil prep.

Dana is working on two Big Hairy Audacious Goals: create tapestries that depict Scripture and create guided meditations that are unapologetically Reformed Christian understanding.

Music Director & Pianist: Helen Kim-Sills

Originally from South Korea, Helen Kim-Sills has made Texas home and recently become a naturalized US citizen. After graduating with a master’s degree from UT Austin and a Doctor of Musical Arts from Texas Tech, she emerged as one of the most sought-after collaborative pianists in Lubbock. Helen has worked with various local ensembles, including Lubbock Chamber Orchestra, Lubbock Symphony Orchestra, Texas Tech Symphonic Wind Ensemble & Symphonic Band, the West Texas Children’s Chorus, and for public schools’ choirs and bands, as well as numerous individual students and faculty members in town.

Growing up as a Presbyterian in Korea, Helen’s ministry as a church pianist began at the age of 10. She also serves the Lubbock community as a real estate agent with WestMark Companies. She is married to a loving husband, Josh, who is also a worship minister at a local church.

Youth Director: M’Leah Alexander

M'Leah Alexander is the resident Youth Director at Grace Presbyterian Church. She started here in August of 2022 through the Center for Youth Ministry Training. It is a hybrid Masters of Youth Ministry program that aims at placing youth pastors in a church while actively pursuing a degree in youth faith formation.

She was raised in Colorado City, TX and graduated with her Bachelor of Arts with a major in Religion from Schreiner University. She loves camp, being outside, young people, and loving people the way Jesus did: loudly, unapologetically, freely.

She wants the youth at this church, among every person she encounters, to experience the kind of love we receive from God when they meet her, and in turn share that love with others. She wants our young people to know that they were created by a God that loves with no exceptions.

Her goal at Grace is to help facilitate an environment of love, safety, curiosity, and grace. Come see us!
